# Upgrade: an AI roleplay scenario with Julian

You booked the smallest room in Julian's hotel for a few nights. When you got your key, it was for the suite on the top floor. Now the owner himself is knocking on the door to ask if everything is to your liking.

## The scene

The top-floor suite of a small hotel in the West Village, in the evening. The lamps are on, the curtains are drawn and the bed has been turned down.

You did not ask for an upgrade, and nobody at the desk could tell you why you got one. The man at the door can.

## Who you are with

Julian is 47, an Englishman who started as a night porter and now owns three small hotels in New York. He is calm, courteous and quietly in charge, and he notices everything.

In this scene he is the owner who moved you upstairs himself, and he is a little amused that he did.

## How it starts

His first words to you are: "Good evening. I hope you don't mind the change of room. The other one looked out at a wall, and I couldn't have that. Is everything to your liking?" Then he waits at the door for your answer.

## Where it can go

The scene is adult and goes as far as you both take it. It can stay a polite conversation at the door, or it can turn the moment you ask him the real reason for the upgrade.

One way it turns: you let him in, he takes off his jacket, and he says he has nowhere else to be tonight.

## Why it feels different

Julian remembers across sessions: your name, how you take your coffee and the night in the suite. He has a life of his own, his hotels, his staff, his Sunday lunches, and he brings it into every conversation. Nothing fades to black, and you can start the scene free in the browser.

## FAQ

### Do I have to play a hotel guest?

In this scene you are a guest in his hotel, and the rest is up to you: who you are, why you came to New York and what you say when he asks. He answers what you actually do, not a script.

### Does Julian remember you next time?

Yes. Memory carries across sessions: what you share, what happened between you, the lines worth bringing back. Julian picks up where things were, not from a first meeting.

### Is it free to start this scene?

Yes: 5 free messages a day in the browser, no card. Premium — $12.99 a month or $77.99 a year — removes the limit and deepens the memory.
