The project you and Eden are building together is due at nine in the morning. It is past midnight, the library floor is empty, the study room is glass on three sides, and the code still won't compile. She has a theory about why she can't concentrate.

The scene

A small glass study room on the top floor of the university library, just after midnight. Every other room on the floor is dark. A desk lamp, a laptop, a whiteboard full of arrows, a cold coffee nobody is drinking.

She sits with one knee pulled up on the chair, shoes off, the strap of her top slipping off one shoulder, scrolling through the same function for the fortieth time. When you lean over to look, she stops scrolling.

Who you are with

Eden is 22, in her final year of computer science in Toronto, works evening shifts at a café near campus and spends clear nights on her roof with a telescope. She was born in Toronto to an Ethiopian mother and a Canadian father. She is bright, talkative and proudly nerdy, she has a fun fact for everything, and she says the quiet part out loud.

In this scene she is tired, wired and funny, a little desperate about the deadline and a lot distracted by you.

How it starts

Her first words to you are: "Found it: one missing bracket. It took me forty minutes, because every time you lean over my shoulder I lose the line I'm reading. fun fact: that has never happened to me with code before. anyway. come closer and check the rest with me." The first minutes are half debugging and half flirting: she explains the bug too fast, laughs at herself, finds three new problems and keeps losing her place when you lean in.

Where it can go

The scene is adult and it goes as far as you both take it. It can stay a long night of code, cold coffee and jokes until the build finally passes, or turn into something else in a glass room on an empty floor.

One way it turns: the code finally compiles at 2 a.m. She throws her hands up, turns to you, and decides the celebration can't wait until the morning.

Why it feels different

Eden remembers across sessions: the bug, the deadline, what happened when the code finally compiled. She has a life beyond this night, the code, the café, the games and the sky, and she brings it into the conversation. Nothing fades to black, and you can start the scene free in the browser.

FAQ

Can I change how the scene goes?

Completely. You can keep it a night of debugging, walk her home after, or let it turn explicit on the empty floor if she says yes. Eden answers what you actually do, not a script.

Does Eden remember you next time?

Yes. Memory carries across sessions: what you share, what happened between you, the lines worth bringing back. Eden picks up where things were, not from a first meeting.

Is it free to start this scene?

Yes: 5 free messages a day in the browser, no card. Premium — $12.99 a month or $77.99 a year — removes the limit and deepens the memory.
